As a residency permit holder in Bulgaria, you might be eligible to apply for your non-EU family members to join you with the process of family reunion.
Under the Bulgarian law the family members include:
Your spouse
Children under the age of 18
Dependent children over the age of 18

The residency holder must personally submit the application and all necessary documentation. Each family member's set of documents should be included with the main application form. A response is typically provided within a month, but this period may be extended by an additional month if further review time is needed. Applicants will be notified in writing if more information is required, and they must supply the requested details within two weeks. Failure to do so will result in application rejection.
The following documents must be submitted by the residency holder:
Application Form
Valid Passport: Your passport must be valid for the entirety of your stay in Bulgaria and should not expire within the next six months.
Proof of Accommodation: Lease agreement and a declaration from the landlord
Proof of Income: Demonstrating stable, predictable, and sufficient income to support family members without relying on state benefits. The income should meet or exceed the Bulgarian minimum monthly salary/pension.
Criminal Background Check: Including any details of immigration, criminal, or civil offenses.
Birth or Marriage Certificates: Relevant documents proving family relationships, with only civil marriages being recognized.
Private Health Insurance: From a Bulgarian insurance company, covering healthcare, hospitalization, and repatriation costs.
Paid Application Fee: This fee is required only once for the primary application.
Non-EU family members must first obtain a Type D visa before applying for a residence permit, which is processed within two weeks. The Type D visa application takes approximately four to six weeks.
